CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
The Engineering Division was requested to investigate
the traffic safety condition for south-bound traffic on Sterling
Avenue between 3rd and 5th Streets. The main concern was the
usage of the two south-bound lanes as three lanes during the
morning peak hours,
A field investigation indicates that Sterling Avenue
is wide enough to accommodate a third lane with a parking restric-
tion on both sides of the street. There is no parking demand on
either side of Sterling Avenue since both sides are undeveloped
vacant properties,
The matter was discussed at the Mayor's Traffic Safety
Advisory Committee meeting and the Committee subsequently recom-
mended the parking restriction on Sterling Avenue between 3rd
and 5th Streets,

RESOLUTION NO.
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO, 3985 ENTITLED IN PART "A RESOLUTION. . , , ,
PROHIBITING PARKING UPON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS OR PORTIONS
THEREOF, . " TO ESTABLISH A NO PARKING ZONE ON PORTIONS OF
STERLING AVENUE, BETWEEN THIRD STREET AND FIFTH STREET.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Resolution No. 3985, which prohibits
parking upon certain designated streets or portions thereof,
Section ONE, is amended by adding Subsection 27.7 Sterling
Avenue, to read:
