Synopsis of Previous Council action:
None.
Recommended motion:
1. That a finding be made that the vacation of the alley, east of
"I" Street and south of Jefferson Street, is needed for health
and safety reasons.
2. That Plan No. 7252, Alley Vacation east of "I" Street and south
of Jefferson Street, be approved.

CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
A request has been received for a portion of the
alley, east of "I" Street and south of Jefferson Street,
~ to be vacated. This request was submitted by the owner
~ of 25% of the adjoining properties.
This alley is unimproved and not used for access on
a regular basis. Since the alley is not paved, it is
prone to weed growth and illegal dumping and presents an
ongoing maintenance problem. Vacation of the alley would
result in this area being incorporated into adjoining
parcels and thereby made available for development.
The Petitioner has deposited $200 as the first half
of the designated fee of $400. After all adjoining pro-
perty owners have been notified, the Petitioner will be
allowed to review the responses, if any, and determine if
he wishes to pay the second half of the fee and proceed
to a protest hearing.
We recommend that the plan be approved and a finding
made that this vacation is needed for health and safety
reasons.
