STAFF REPORT
With the ever present drug problem in the City it would be to
the benefi t of the City and the po 1 i ce department to have rep-
resentation at the California Narcotics Officers Association
Annua 1 Conference. Most of the topi cs that wi 11 be covered
at this conference pertain to our City, such as: Cocaine Update,
Clandestine Laboratory Investigations, Motorcycle/Biker Gangs,
Drug Awareness Resistance Education - D.A.R.E., to name but
a few.
The information provided at this conference will consist of
the latest known material on current trend drugs, tactics used
by drug traffi ckers, and suggested updated methods of i nves t i-
gation, and approaches by law enforcement to deal with the pro-
blem.
In order to properly instruct youth who are knowledgeable in
drugs, their use and effects, it is necessary that those officers
involved in instructional programs such as D.A.R.E. be current
in their information.
There will be no cost to the City for these officers to attend
this conference. The City Unified School District will pay
the expenses.
