Task Force - City of Riverside DATE: April 3, 1987 (7033) COPIES: ------------------------------------------------------------- The City of Riverside was contacted regarding their .Year 2000. Citizen Task Force. I spoke with Ms. Alveris B. Van Fleet. She was assigned first as the Task Force Officer and then as Special Assistant to the City Manager to finalize the goals. Ms. Van Fleet spoke with me at length. She gave me an information package regarding Riverside's Task Porce. Below is an itemized list of things covered in the conversation that are not contained in the package: 1. The .Year 2000. Task Force is essentially a .brain- storming. group. 2. A professor from UCR defined Strategic Planning. (Important) 3. Full-time coordinator. Lots of staff time. 4. Overlaps other development plan but does not replace. s. Community support. (Important) 6. Council support. (Important) 7. Limit the committee. (Three is good number) 8. Limit goal. (Five or six is good number) 9. Sequence of events. (a) Briefing by SCAG.
