STAFF REPORT
BID SPEC: F-87-33
The proposed contract action is for various sizes of automotive batteries to be
utilized in all City vehicles. Specifications were prepared. published and
forwar~ed to dealers and manufacturers of this product. Specifications were
formulated with the objective of obtaining firm prices for furnishing and del-
ivering automotive batteries on an as required basis for a one year period. Eleven
vendors were solicited. five bids were received and six vendors did not respond.
Bids were publicly opened and declared at 10:00 a.m., April 21, 1987. The following
is a summary of bids received and is based on estimated annual requirement of 500
batteries:

Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Equipment Superintendent who
concurs that the bid of Keystone Wilcock Battery Company meets specifications
and City requirements. It is therefore recommended that the bid be accepted for
contract. Term of contract shall be from July 1, 1987 through June 30. 1988.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID TO KEYSTONE-
WILCOCK BATTERY CO. FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF AUTOMOTIVE BATTERIES
OF VARIOUS SIZES TO BE UTILIZED BY THE CENTRAL GARAGE DEPARTMENT ON AN AS
NEEDED BASIS FOR A ONE-YEAR PERIOD IN ACCORDANCE WI~H BID SPECIFICATION NO.
F-87-33.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BER-
NARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Keystone-Wilcock Battery Co. is the lowest and best bidder
for the furnishing and delivery of automotive batteries of various sizes
to be utilized by the Central Garage Department on an as needed basis for a
one-year period in accordance with Bid Specification No. F-87-33 for the
total amount of $17,724.46; pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing
Agent is hereby authorized and directed to issue a purchaSe order, for said
automotive batteries to said lowest and best bidder; such award shall only
be effective upon the issuance of a purchase order by the Purc~asing Agent;
and all other bids therefor are hereby rejected.
I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the
