The proposed contract action is for the Annual Mixed-in-Transit Concrete require-
ment for the City. Specifications were prepared, published and furnished to area
suppliers. The bids were publicly opened and declared on April 16, 1987. The
following is a summary of bids received.

The Director of Public Services has reviewed specifications as bid and concurs that
the bid of C.L. Pharris, one of five bid responses out of eight solicited, meets
specification and requirements. It is therefore recommended that the bid be accepted
for contract. The funding is in the 1987/BB Budget.

2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT TO
C.L. PHARRIS FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF MIXED IN TRANSIT CONCRETE
IN ACCORDANCE WITH SPECIFICATION F-87-29.
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BER-
NARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. That C.L. Pharris is the lowest and best bidder for the

furnishing and delivery of mixed in transit concrete on an as required basis

for a one-year period, for a per cubic yard price of $43.20 including tax

for Class-520-C-2500, $45.10 including tax for Class-560-C-3250, $42.25
including tax for Class-500-C-2500, $25.85 including tax for Calss-l00-E-I00,
all in accordance with Specification No. F-87-29; that all other bids therefor
are hereby rejected; that the bid of C.L. Pharris therefor is hereby accepted;
and that the Purchasing Agent of the City of San Bernardino is hereby
authorized to issue purchase orders therefor.
