To help it's members cope with the unique liability problems they face, PRIMA provides training, publications, information on successful programs and procedures, and review of legislation on court decisions. Many of its members work closely with other public interest groups and testify before congressional committees and state task forces as experts in the field. It also has conducted a national conference during the last seven years and is ready to embark upon its eighth annual conference in Seattle, Washington from May 17 through May 20, 1987. I have been a member of PRIMA for many years. Also, I am currently on the Board of Directors of the Public Agency Risk Managers Association (PARMA), a California statewide association with over 300 members. It is important that I attend the PRIMA Conference in connection with my position with PARMA. Primarily, however, my attendance at the PRIMA Conference will provide me with a national perspective on contemporary issues relating to risk management. Interaction with PRIMA members provides me with an arena to experience new ideas, concepts, programs and innovations that may be applied to the Risk Management Program in the City of San Bernardino. Although the formal Agenda is comprehensive and interesting, I have found the informal interaction with risk managers from other parts of the country to be equally as valuable. In essence, I feel my attendance at the PRIMA Conference will significantly enhance my ability to renovate the City of San Bernardino's Risk Management Program to a high level of sophistication. ,"~?;;h~ 'ifir Director of Risk Management ELlsf 75-0264
