Synopsis of Previous Council action:
Council approved the renaming of Rio Vista Park to Anne E. Shirrells Park on
April 20, 1987.
Recommended motion:
That $4,000 from Sixth Ward Park Extension Funds be approved for the construction
of a monument sign for Anne E. Shirre11s Park.

APPROVAL OF $4,000 FROM SIXTH WARD STAFF REPORT
PARK EXTENSION FUNDS FOR THE CON-
STRUCTION OF CONCRETE MONUMENT SIGN
FOR ANNE E. SHIRRELLS PARK

The newly renamed Anne E. Shirrells Park does not have any identifying
signs. The acquisition of a monument sign is consistent with signage
for City Parks. The sign would be approximately 18" high by 10' long
with 7" high letters on both sides. The sign will be constructed with
a 12" footing at the park entry on Cal ifornia Street and will have an
exposed aggregate finish.
This request has been coordinated with the Council Office.
