03-23-87 - Change Order No. One approved, authorizing Contractor to raise the
building finish floor elevation, increase the sewer size and re-route
irrigation lines for an increase of $2,162.00 in the contract price,
from $126,173.00 to $128,335.00.
Recommen"ed motion:
That Change Order No. Two to the contract with Duncan Construction,
Inc. for the construction of a restroom/concession building at
Del Vallejo Jr. High School, in accordance with Plan No. 6865, be
approved; to authorize the Contractor to adjust the sidewalk and
driveway grades to match the building pad elevation, and remove
water from the flooded building pad, at a net increase in contract
price of $1,212.95, from $128,335.00 to $129,547.95.

STAFF REPORT
Contract Change Order No. One raised the elevation of the building
pad by approximately 1 foot. In order to match the new pad elevation, the
perimeter sidewalks and the driveway must be regraded to match the new ele-
vation. The Contractor has agreed to import fill material and perform the
grading for a cost of $545.00.
During construction, an irrigation valve, under the control of the
San Bernardino City Unified School District, was opened during non-construction
hours, and flooded the job site. The Contractor sustained costs of $667.95
for pump rental and labor in order to restore the site to a workable condition.
Contract Change Order No. Two will authorize a net increase in the
contract price of $1,212.95, from $128,335.00 to $129,547.95. We consider
these costs to be reasonable and justified, and recommend that Change Order
No. Two be approved.
This Change Order will be funded with monies allocated as contin-
gencies under Account No. 243-363-57521, "Del Vallejo Park Concession Stand."
