RESOLUTION NO.
THE

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, ESTABLISHING
APPROPRIATION LIMIT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1987/88 FOR THE CITY
SAN BERNARDINO IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF DIVISION 9
TITLE 1 OF THE CALIFORNIA GOVERNMENT CODE.

WHEREAS Article XIII B of the constitutijn
6 California as proposed by the Initiative Measu~e
of the State of
approved by the
7 people at the special statewide election held on November 6, 1979
8 provides that the total annual appropriations subject to
9 limitation of each local government shall not exceed the
10 appropriations limit of such entity for the prior year adjusted
11 for changes in the cost of living and population except as
12 otherwise specifically provided for in said Articlel and
13 WHEREAS the State Legislature added Division 9 (commencing
14 with Section 7900) to Title 1 of the Government Code of the State
15 of California to implement Article XIII B of the California

16 Constitutionl and
17 WHEREAS Section 7910 of the Government Code provides that
18 each year the governing body of each local jurisdiction shall, by
19 resolution, establish its appropriations limit for the following
20 fiscal year pursuant to Article XIII B at a regularly scheduled
21 meeting or a noticed special meeting and that fifteen days prior
22 to such meeting, documentation used in the determination of the
23 appropriations limit shall be available to the publicl and
24 WHEREAS Section 7902 (a) of the Government Code sets forth
25 the method for determining the appropriations limit for each
26 local jurisdiction for the 1987-88 fiscal yearl and

1 WHEREAS the City Council of the City of San Bernardino
2 wishes to establish the appropriations limit for fiscal year
3 1981-82 for the City of San Bernardino.
4 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
5 City of San Bernardino, California, as follows:
6 Section 1: That it is hereby found and determined that the
7 documentation used in the determination of the appropriations
8 limit for the City of San Bernardino for fiscal year 1987-88 was
9 available to the pUblic in the Finance Department of said City at
10 least fifteen days prior to this date.
11 Section 2: That the appropriations limit for the City of
12 San Bernardino as established in accordance with Section 7902 (a)
13 of the Government Code is $77,158,239.00.
14' I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
15 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
16 Bernardino at a meeting thereof, held on
