Synopsis of Previous Council action:
6-28-83 __ Council agreed to contract sweeping services at Central City Mall.
1-07-84 -- Contract awarded to D.C. Sweeping Company
1-07-85 -- Contract awarded to American Sweeping Service.
1-07-86 __ Council approved 120 day extension and authorization to readvertise for
bids. (Council action dated Sept. 22, 1986, agenda item 6).
11-1-86 __ Contract awarded to IPS Service Inc. for a period of 8 months.
(Resolution #86.437).
Recommended motion:
That the extension of the contract with IPS SErvice Inc., for sweeping the Central
City Mall surface parking lots and 3-Level Parking Structure, for a period of 90
days be approved; and the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be authorized to
readvertise for bids.

STAFF REPORT
IPS Services was awarded the sweeping contract for Central
City Mall open and 3-Level Parking Structure 11,1,86 for a
period of 8 months for the amount of $4,346.71 per month.
The sweeping service provided by IPS has been acceptable by
the Central City Mall Company and the City of San Bernardino
during this time.
IPS has agreed to extend the present contract for sweeping
services at Central City Mall for an additional 90 days at
the current rate of $4,346.71 per month under the same terms
and conditions as current contract.
Staff recommends extension of the sweeping contract with IPS
for a period of 90 days and direct staff to readvertise for
bids.
