Synopsis of Previous Council action:
June IS, 1987 -- Resolution 87-201 adopted, establishing the appropriation limit
for FY 1987/88.
NOTE: The City Attorney ruled that the aboye resolution was adopted in error as
the Prooosition 4 calculations were not ayailable for examination 15
days prior to the adoption of said resolution.

TION LIMIT FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1937/38 FOR THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
iN ACCORDANCE WITH THE PROVISIONS OF DIVISION 9 OF TITLE I OF THE CALIFORNIA
CODE, AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO. 87-201
WHEREAS, Article XIII B of the Constitution of the State of California
as proposed by the Initiative Measure approved by the people at the special
statewide election held on November 5, 1979, provides that the total annual
appropriations subject to limitation of each local government shall not exceed
the appropriations limit of such entity for the prior year adjusted for
changes in the cost of living and population except as otherwise specifically
I provided for in said Article; and
I WHEREAS, the State Legislature added Division 9 (commencing with
Section 7900) to Title 1 of the Government Code of the State of California
to implement Article XIII B of the California Constitution; and
\~HEREAS, Section 79D of the Sovernrnent Code provides that each year
the governing body of each local jurisdiction shall, by resolution, esta~lish
its appropriations limit for the following fiscal year pursuant to Article
XIII B at a regularly scheduled meeting or a noticed special meeting and that
fifteen days prior to such meeting, documentation used in the determination
of the appro~riations limit shall be available to the public; and
WHEREAS, Section 7902 (a) of the Government Code sets forth the method
for determining the appropriations limit for each local jurisdiction for the
1987-88 fiscal year; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of San Bernardino wishes to
stablish the appro~riations limit for fiscal year 1981-82 for the City of
San Bernardino.
NO~I, THER~FORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of San
ernardino, California, as follows:
28 SECTION 1: That it is hereby found and determined that the documentation

Bernardino for fiscal year 19B7-B8 was available to the ~ublic in the Finance
Department of said City at least fifteen days ~rior to this date.

ADOPTING THE PRELIMINARY BUDGET OF SAID CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
1987-1988.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
