A separate Council Action is proposed on the implementation plan which included the task of position reclassifications by the Personnel Department. The results and recommendations of the Personnel Department are outlined in a June 1, 1987 memorandum (attached) reviewed at the 6/4/87 Personnel Committee meeting. These reclassifications were requested by the Director of Public Works/City Engineer in a 4/24/87 memorandum to the Personnel Committee Chairman (also attached.) These reclassifications are a first step in establishing a "swing shift" which was a major recommendation of the management audit. Resolutions establishing changes to position titles have been prepared following action of the Personnel Committee and are set forth for adoption by the Mayor and Common Council. JUSTIFICATION FOR PLACEMENT ON SUPPLEMENTAL AGENDA Placement of this item on the July 6th Supplemental Agenda is required in order to initiate implementation of a "swing shift" -- a major recommendation of the management audit. c c' "\ J :) C I T Y 0 F SAN B ERN A R DIN 0 INTEROFFICE MEMORANDUM 8706-601 (T'rr ~~-c~,.- -'~'- TO: Ray Schweitzer, City Administrator FROM: Mary Jane perlick, Director of Personnel SUBJECT: Garage Audit DATE: June 1, 1987 (7092) COPIES: Mayor EVlyn wilcox; Roger Hardgrave, Engineer/Director of Public Works City ------------------------------------------------------------- Per your Hardgrave's Audit. request, below please find our comments on Roger memo relative to implementation of the Garage 1.
