I am requesting authorization for the hiring of 15 part time Extra Relief
Heavy Laborers for the Refuse Section of the Department of Public Services
on August 3, 1987.
Each Spring the department employees up to 30 part time Extra Relief Heavy
Laborers to enable permanent/genet'al personnel to take vacations during the
Summer months while school is not in session. This year due to lack of in-
terest on the part of applicants for part time employment, we were unable
to fill enough positions to continue operations in an acceptable manner.
Please advise if this request is approved to allow fot' scheduling of inter-
views.
