Recommended motion:
That a finding be made that the installation of traffic signals and
storm drain facilities. at the intersection of University Parkway
and College Avenue. is needed for health and safety reasons.

STAFF REPORT
A considerable number of children cross University Parkway. at
College Avenue. on their way to and from Kendall Elementary School. There
is a crossing guard assigned to this intersection. However. it is difficult
to get vehicles stopped due to their high speeds.
Traffic volumes have increased to a point where established Traffic
Signal Warrants are satisfied. Installation of traffic signals will provide
for safer movement of traffic by assigning right-of-way to the approaching
lanes.
Therefore. we recommend that a finding be made that the installa-
tion of traffic signals and storm drain is needed for health and safety
reasons.
