STAFF REPORT
SUBJECT
A resolution authorizing the execution of Annual Purchase Orders, with two single year renewal
options, to Robertson Ready Mix, Fourth Street Rock and Cemex Ready Mix to furnish concrete
for sidewalks, curbs and concrete repairs.
BACKGROUND
Robertson Ready Mix, Fourth Street Rock and Cemex Ready Mix are selected source providers of
ready mix concrete and have been providing materials for City concrete replacement and repairs for
over ten (10) years. Fourth Street Rock is located within the City of San Bernardino while the other
two vendors are located in adjacent San Bernardino County areas.
It is desirable to award purchase orders to these three vendors due to the variations in production
schedules for materials at each of the local vendors. Use of local vendors for this material is
necessary for completion of concrete projects by City crews in a timely manner, thus improving
workability of the material in the field. The Public Services Department is therefore requesting that
these three vendors be declared selected source vendors. Per Municipal Code 3.04.010 B.3
Adoption of Purchasing System, this should be approved by the Mayor and Common Council.
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for these purchase orders are contained in the Fiscal Year 2000/2001 Street Division budget,
Materials and Supplies fund for concrete replacement and repair materials in the amount of $31,000.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AUTIiORIZING THE
EXECUTION OF ANNUAL PURCHASE ORDERS, WITH TWO SINGLE YEAR
RENEWAL OPTIONS, TO ROBERTSON READY MIX, FOURTH STREET ROCK
AND CEMEX READY MIX TO FURNISH CONCRETE FOR SIDEWALKS, CURBS
AND CONCRETE REPAIRS UTILIZED BY THE PUBLIC SERVICES
DEPARlMENT STREET DMSION.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Robertson Ready Mix, Fourth Street Rock and Cemex Ready Mix are
the selected source suppliers for the City of San Bernardino for furnishing concrete replacement
and repair materials. Pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing Manager is hereby authorized
and directed issue Annual Purchase Orders, with two single year renewal options, to Robertson
Ready Mix, Fourth Street Rock and Cemex Ready Mix in a combined total not to exceed $31,000
for said concrete materials. These Annual Purchase Orders and future year renewal options shall
be contingent upon funds being approved in the City's Budget for this service.
SECTION 2, The authorization to execute the above referenced Annual Purchase Order
is rescinded if the purchase order is not issued within sixty (60) days of the passage of this
resolution
