The Exchange Club of San Bernardino produces the Miss San Bernardino Pageant to provide a young lady to represent the city as an ambassadress of good will. Any profits realized from the pageant are returned to the community through charitable enterprises. D~ring the,1988 pagean~ we were notified by the city that we could use C1ty faci11ties for th1s event without paying the customary fees. We are requesting the use of Sturgess Auditorium for the 1990 Miss San Bernardino Pageant and again are requesting the waiver of fees. We appreciate your support in this civic function. Co-producers, Miss San Bernardino Pageant NOTE: This request was not received in sufficient time for additional backup information to be obtained. The Exchange Club has a deadline to meet and would appreciate having an indication at this meeting regarding the possibility of reducing the es- tablished use fees. This is the type of project which is of community-wide bene- fit and interest, and one which would qualify for consideration for co-sponsorship. The recommendation at this time is for Mayor and Council approval of reducing the overall use fee, with the organization paying for the direct costs of overtime for personnel, etc. ~~,,:
