CITAF SAN BERNARDINO - REQUQT FOR COUNCIL ACOON
STAFF REPORT
A citizen request has been received to investigate the
adequacy of the stop control for 30th Street at "I" Street. A
24-hour traffic count indicates that traffic volume has a 3:1
ratio, with the majority of traffic on 30th Street. Apparently,
the stop signs were installed at a time when the majority of
traffic was on "I" Street.
This matter was discussed by the Traffic Safety Committee
at their July 13, 1988, meeting. The Committee recommended that
the stop control be switched to stop North-South traffic on "I"
Street and to install temporary warning signs for "I" Street to
avoid confusion of motorists accustomed to the.existing control.
We recommend approval of this action to enhance vehicular
flow by considerably reducing delays on Thirtteth Street.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 655, ENTITLED, IN PART "A RESOLUTION. . . . .
DESIGNATING CERTAIN STREE~S.AS THROUGH HIGHWAYS"; AND AUTHORIZING
THE INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON "I" STREET AT ITS INTERSECTION
WITH THIRTIETH STREET.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
Resolution No. 655, which designates certain streets as
Through Highways, Subsection (l7.6) THIRTIETH STREET, is amended
to read as follows:
