STAFF REPORT
At the recommendation of Council, any increases for the
California Theatre were to be brought before the Fine Arts
Commission.
The attached request for a 15% increase by the San Bernardino
Civic Light Opera Association for usage of the California
Theatre was presented to the Fine Arts Commission at their
regularly scheduled meeting of June 10, 1988.
The request was recommended for approval by the Fine Arts Commission
and sent to you for final approval.

Dear Mr. Silver,
RE: The California Theatre of
Performing Arts
As you know, the San Bernardino Community Arts Productions. The Inland
Empire Symphony Association and The San Bernardino Concert Association
receive special reduced rental rates for the use of the California
Theatre of Performing Arts where each of the above listed organizations
present their concerts.
The current rate for those organizations is $800.00 a day, outside and
other organizations pay $880.00 a day for theatre rental.
Due to the major increases of the following staff, heat, electric, cost
of light equipment, repairs, supplies, maintenance, insurance and the
added costs of the major improvements. such as, added restrooms, etc.,
and the new parking commission tax of $4,000.00, we must have an add-
itional rental fee to help over come an existing operational deficit.
We are requesting a 15% increase from the existing fee of $800.00,
per day.
Rental Fee:
this 15% increase equals....... $ 120.00
Present Fee.................... +800.00
Total New Fee.................. $ 920.00
The Association is requesting the Commission to grant this amount
of increase.
