STAFF REPORT
On November 21, 1988, Council amended Resolution No. 6433
deleting the Building Maintenance Supervisor position and
adding the Assistant Superintendent for Maintenance position
in the Public Buildings Division of the Public Works
Depart~ent. The Director of Public Works has requested that
the salary for Assistant Superintendent for Maintenance be
set at range 4139 ($2967-3613jMo.). The Personnel Department
concurs with that recommendation. This corresponds to the
budget request the Public Buildings Division submitted last
November and is in the Division's 1989-90 budget proposal.
The incumbent Building Maintenance Supervisor has been
underfilling the Assistant Superintendent for Maintenance
position since November however has not assumed the duties of
that position. Since he is scheduled to retire this October,
the Public Works Department would like the salary to be es-
tablished so that recruitment may begin shortly and a person
selected by the time this position becomes vacant.
