STAFF REPORT
The San Bernardino City Unified School District provides funding to
train police officers assigned to teach the D.A.R.E. curriculum in the
schbols. Classes at the conference pertain to learning new teaching
techniques, updating the D.A.R.E. lessons, and other classes relating
to the D.A.R.E. program.
Having Officer Ray Rocha attend this conference will enable him to add
to his teaching aids, and upgrade his techniques and presentations in
the classroom in presenting the D.A.R.E. program to his students.
There will be no cost to the City of San Bernardino except his standard
salary and the Unified School District will provide all his expenses
for travel, meals, and lodging.
REASON FOR PLACEMENT ON THE SUPPLEMENTAL AGENDA:
Information regarding this conference was received
on July 11, 1989 and there was insufficient time
to meet the regular Agenda deadline.
