Synopsis of Previous Council action:
No Council action has been taken on the Senior Data Systems Operator. The Council
approved the creation of the position of City Attorney Investigator at its December
21, 1987, meeting by amending Resolution No. 6413.

STAFF REPORT
Resolution No. 10584 defines a Confidential employee to be
"any employe~ who is privy to decisions of City Management
affecting employer-employee relations." The Senior Data
Systems Operator has such access as the Personnel Department
utilizes the computer to cost proposals during salary nego-
titations and the Senior Data Systems Operator has access to
this confidential information. We have consulted with the
Union CAFSCME) and they accept the change. The City Attorney
has stated that the City Attorney Investigator position in
his office also meets this definition.
