STAFF REPORT
The Engineering Division has received the attached re-
quest letter from Mr. Roger Vogeler representing Marley Roof
Tiles Corporation, located on 1990 E. Riverview Drive.
The request is to prohibit parking on the north side of
Riverview Drive adjacent to their property, in order to improve
the traffic flow and ingress/egress of their business. The
Traffic Safety Committee concurred wit~ the req~est at their
May, 1988, meeting.
We, therefore, recommend approval of the attached resolu-
tion prohibiting parking on the north side of Riverview Drive,
f~om 243 feet west of Mt. View Avenue to a point 453 feet
westerly. This restriction will not impact the parking demand
in the area.

I am Roger Vogeler, Project Engineer for Marley Roof Tiles Corporation,
1990 East Riverview Drive, San Bernardino, Ca. 9240B. As a representative of
Marley Roof Tiles Corporation I am requesting that the curb parking area to the
south of our property be changed to a 10ading zone. I am also requesting
that stop signs be installed at the intersection of Mountain View Avenue and
Riverview Drive.
Marley Roof Tiles Corporation manufactures concrete roof tiles. The
palletized root tiles are loaded onto flatbed trucks in the 10ading area on
our property. Before these large flatbed trucks can be loaded, they must line
up and await their turn, nouhle parked on Riverview Drive.
Across the street from us on the north side of Riverview Drive is National
Prebuilt Manufacturing Company, a mobile home builder. Prebuilt also double
parks their mobile home sections on Riverview Drive so that they can form a
convoy to deliver their mobile homes efficiently.
When both Marley Roof Tiles and Prebuilt are double parked on Riverview
Drive. littlp. or no throllgh trafflc can flow on Rivp.rview Drive.
Marley Roof Tiles Corporation would like to create a loading zone along
the length of our southern property line, about 650 feet.
Due to the in<:re"se of alltomobile "nd trurk traffic on Mountain View Avenlle
and Riverview Drive we Hre requesting that stop signs bp inst"llpd at all
of the corners of this intersection.

RESOLUTION NO. 3985 ENTITLED, IN PART, "A RESOLUTION .
4 PROHIBITING PARKING UPON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS OR PORTIONS
THEREOF. ." TO ESTAaLISH A NO PARKING ZONE ON PORTIONS OF
5 RIVERVIEW DRIVE, BETWEEN A POINT 243 FEET WEST OF MT. VIEW AVENUE
AND A POINT 453 FEET WEST OF MT. VIEW AVENUE, APPLICABLE TO THE
6 NORTH SIDE ONLY.
7 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
8 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
Resolution No. 3985, which prohibits parking
10 upon certain designated streets or portions thereof, Section One,
11 is amended by adding Subsection 27.1al, Riverview Drive to read:
