STAFF REPORT
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has
recently completed the design plans for the signalization of the
intersection of 30th Street at "H" Street. The plans necessitate
striping modifications to both streets. This signalization project
is to be implemented in the same time frame as the Route 30 at "H"
Street Interchange project.
Subsequent to staff review of these signalization plans,
certain parking restrictions were necessary to impose on 30th
Street and "H" Street. The proposed "No Parking Anytime" zones
are shown on the attached drawings.
The affected area residents were notified and invited to
attend the Traffic Safety Committee meeting. We receive.d no
objections until six months after the meeting, when an objection
was received from the property owner on the northwest corner of
30th and "H" Street.
We contacted Caltrans' staff and attempted to offer
different alternative design to maintain the existing parking.
Unfortunately, the future traffic volume will require two lanes
on "H" Street. If the parking is allowed to remain, the reduced
road width will create unnecessary traffic delay and may create
a hazardous situation.
Staff recommends the approval of the attached resolution.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING
4 RESOLUTION NO. 3985 ENTITLED, IN PART, "A RESOLUTION.
PROHIBITING PARKING UPON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS OR PORTIONS
.5 THEREOF..." TO ESTABLISH A NO PARKING ANYTIME ZONE ON THIRTIETH
STREET BETWEEN THE WEST CURB LINE OF "H" STREET AND A POINT 100
6 FEET WESTERLY THEREOF, APPLICABLE TO THE SOUTH SIDE ONLY; ON "Ii"
STREET BETWEEN THE SOUTH CURB LINE OF THIRTIETH STREET AND A
7 POINT 150 FEET SOUTHERLY THEREOF.
8 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
9 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

Resolution No. 3985 which prohibits parking
SECTION 1:
11 upon certain designated streets or portions thereof, Section One,
12 Subsection (31.05) THIRTIETH STREET is amended by adding the
13 following to read:

(f) Between the west line of "H"
Street and a point 100 feet
westerly thereof, applicable to
the south side only.
SECTION 2.
Resolution No. 3985 which prohibits parking
19 upon certain designated streets or portions thereof, Section One,
20 Subsection (13.4) "H" STREET. is amended by adding the following
