After the Board of Building cOllllissioners action, and one year elapsed time, repairs were made. In 1978, the buildings were again in dis-repair. An appeal to the Redevelopment Agency for funds was turned down. On January 9, 1980, complaints were again received. Inspection of the property was attempted, but entry was denied. OUring 1980, this came to the Board of Building cOllllissioners five times, with extensions being granted. In August of 1980, it again came before the Board of Building COllllissioners. The result was a resolution to demolish. An appeal was made to the Mayor and COllllon council on August 22, 1980, and was denied. No further action was taken until January 31, 1986. The Board of Building Commissioners met on March 7, 1986, and adopted a resolution for illllediate demolition. An appeal was made on March 17, 1986 to the Mayor and COllllon council, and was denied. On November 7, 1986, the structure was demolished and the lot was cleaned. (Note: Structure demolished was west side of 1091-1099) On November 17, 1986, complaints were received in regards to the open and exposed wall of the remaining building. Letters were sent and the owner refused to protect the exposed fraainq and wall. The building was scheduled for the Board of BuildineJ Co_issioners Meeting on June 3, 1988. The owner was notified on May 20, 1988. permits were taken out to close the open wall. Mr. Peters was informed that this would not stop the Board of Building COIIIIissioners action, as there were other existing problems. Mr. Peters appeared before the Board of Building COllllissioners and claimed that the remaining building was a self-contained building, independent of portion that was demolished. The remaining building has no sanitation facilities, which cast doubt upon this supposition. Mr. Peters was asked to produce a structural Engineers Report, as required by the San Bernardino Municipal Code 15.28.050, and indicated that he did not feel it was necessary to do so. 71.026.
