STAFF REPORT
On December 19, 1984, the Northwest Project Area Committee held their first
election at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School. There were 54 candidates
with 21 being elected.
The newly elected members of PaC selected their terms of office by lot. 10
member's terms were for two years and 11 member's terms were for four years. The
PAC bas tentatively scheduled hOlding their second election in December, 1986.
On October 23, 1986, staff submitted to the Redevelopment Committee, the PAC's
request for *6,000 to cover the cost of the second election (see Exhibit "A).
The Redevelopment Committee recommended approval of the PAC's election budget
request not to exceed *6,000.

In response to your letter dated September 12, 1986, the following information
is being submitted:
1. Copy of the Northwest PAC Bylaws
2. Northwest PAC Technical Procedure for Election
3. Northwest PAC Tentative Election Schedule
4. Anticipated "Cost" of Election
We are requesting the lledeveloplllent Committee fund the Northwest Project Area
Committee the amount of $ 6.000.00 for two newsletters (October and December).
postage, and newspaper advertisements for the PAC election to be held on/or
about December 19, 1986.
This money should have been included in the original budget that waa submitted
but was an oversight on our part.
The dollar figure repreaenCtl half the original cost for the first election held
on December 19, 1984.
