RESOLUTION NO.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO URGING THE PUBLIC
UTILITIES COMMISSION TO CONSIDER THE EFFECT AND IMPACT OF A 31\
3 INCREASE IN RATES OF THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA GAS COMPANY.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
5 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
6 SECTION 1. Recitals.
7 A. The Public Utilities Commission is currently considering
8 Application Nos. 86-09-030 and 86-09-029 and Advice Letter No.
9 1653 of Southern California Gas Company to increase its rates
10 effective January 1, 1987.
11 B. The proposed increases would result in an increase in
12 rates to residential users of approximately $282,688,000, and
13 increase the average monthly single-family residential gas bill
14 by 31\.
15 SECTION 2. Implementation.
16 A. The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
17 Bernardino urge the Public Utilities Commission to consider the
18 effect and impact such an increase would have on users, and
19 further request that the Public Utilities Commission scrutinize
20 the requested increases with that in mind.
21 B. The Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
22 Bernardino recommend that the Public Utilities Commission, in
23 adjudicating these increases, attempt to give Southern California
24 Gas Company the flexibility necessary to minimize the impact on
25 users.
26 SECTION 3. Notice of Resolution. The City Clerk of the City
27 of San Bernardino is hereby directed to forward a copy of this
28 resolution to the Public Utilities Commission of the State of
