At the September 11, 1986 Legislative Review
Committee, the Committee recommended that the City
Attorney, Building & Safety Supervisor and Planning
Director meet and bring their recommendations to
the full Council.
(Representatives from the three departments met and recommend the
attached ordinance.)
Recommended motion:
waive further first reading of ordinance and layover for final
adoption.

ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING SECTION
15.56.020 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE CONCERNING THE
REQUIREMENT OF GARAGES AND CARPORTS WHEN A STRUCTURE IS TO BE
REHABILITATED.
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 19.56.020 Subsection H of the San
B~rnardino Municipal Code is amended to read as fo.llows:
-H. Whenever a residential structure is substantially
rehabilitated, repaired or remodeled, and there is evidence that
a garage or carport once existed on the property, then the garage
or carport shall be repaired or constructed in compliance with
current applicable provisions of the code. .~he replacement
