19.49 TO THB ~AN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE PROVIDING FOR THE
MAINTENANCE AND ENFORCEMENT OF ON-SITE LANDSCAPING.
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Chapter 19.49 is added to the San Bernardino
Municipal Code to read as follows:

19.49.020 Enforcement of landscape standards.
Enforcement of such community landscape standards shall be
the responsibility of the Planning Director or his designee. In
the event anyon-site landscaping does not meet said standards,
the City shall give the property owners thirty days' notice in
writing to remedy any deficiency or deviation from the standards.
Tbe property owner shall have ten days following date of the
notice in which to request a hearing before the Planning
Commission of his or her objections to the finding of deficiency
24 or deviation. Failure to remedy any defiCiency or deviation as
25 set forth in the notice shall empower the City to perform or
26 contract the.work necessary to cure said deficiencies or
27 deviations. Any costs incurred by the City for such work shall

be assessed against the property owner under the procedures and
the provision, of Chapter 3.68 of the San Bernardino Municipal
Code. Wherev.r the words "nuisance abatement" appear in said
Chapter such words, for purposes of this section, shall mean "on-
site landscaping."

ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING CHAPTER
19.12 OF THE SAN BERNARDINO MUNICIPAL CODE AND PROVIDING FOR THE
MAINTENANCE AND ENFORCEMENT OF ON-SITE LANDSCAPING IN THE R-3
RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT.
THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 19.12.201 is added to the San Bernardino
Municipal Code to read as follows:
"19.12.201 Maintenance of on-site landscaping
Landscaping on developed lots and parcels in the R-3
multiple family residential district shall be maintained to
community standards in accordance with the plans and
spec if ications on file with the City Planning Department."
SECTION 2. Section 19.12.202 is added to the San Bernardino
Municipal Code to read as follows:
"19.12.202 Enforcement of landscape standards
Enforcement of such community landscape standards shall be
the responsibility of the Planning Director or his designee. In
the event anyon-site landscaping does not meet said standards,
the City shall give the property owners thirty (30) days' notice
in writing to remedy any deficiency or deviation from the
standards. Failure to remedy any deficiency or deviation as set
'forth in the notice shall empower the City to perform or contract
the work necessary to cure said deficiencies or deviations. Any

25 against the property owner under the procedures and the
26 provisions of Chapter 3.68 of the San Bernardino Municipal Code.
