That the contract for the Installation of Irrigation and Hydrospraying

6734, Basic Bid and Alternate No.1 be awarded to the low bidder, Bob
Britton, Inc., in the amount of $124,~05.40.

STAFF REPORT
On August 13, 1985, bids were opened for the improvements at Blair
Park. A total of 4 bids were received ranging from a high of
$150,515.6B to a low of $124,205.40 for the Basic Bid plus Alternate
No.1. The low bi d wa s 5.19% below the Engi neer's. esti ma te for thi s
work. '

Current balance in Account No. 243-363-57505 is $119,440.00. This is
insufficient to cover even the base bid. however, supplemental funding
'has been requested in the 1985-86 Budget in the amount of $20,000.00
bringing the total available to $1~9,440.00 providing the budget is
approved.
Alternate No.1 is for the area between the ball fields and is
included in this contract.
Funds in Account No, 243;'363-57505 must be expended and audited prior
to December 31, 1985, or they become unavailable for use.
It is recommended that the Mayor and Common Council award the contract
to the low bidder and approve the portion of the 1985-86 Budget to
include the $20,000.00 for the completion of the Basic Bid and
Alternate No.1.

RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A CONTRACT

LAWN AT BLAIR PARK.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE 14AYOR AND COM~10N COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
AN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Bob Bri tton, Inc. is the lowest responsible
idder for construction of a public project, to-wit: for Grading,
Irrigation and Hydrospraying Lawn at Blair Park, in accordance with
lan No. 6734. for the total amount of $124,205.40, and a contract
is awarded to said bidder accordingly for the Base Bid and
lternate No.1, but such award shall be effective only upon the
ontract being fully executed by the parties; all other bids there-
or are hereby rejected; and the Mayor is hereby authorized and

SECTION 2. The City of San Bernardino does not intend that
