Recommended motion:
That the account balance in the approximate amount of $4,460,
Account No. 01-123-252 (Professional and Contractural Services) be
carried over into the Fiscal Year 1985-86 Budget for the purpose of
extending the Business License Pilot Program until September 13,
1985.

STAFF REPORT
On January 7, 1985, the J~ayor and Cornman Council
authorized a temporary position of Business License Inspector
froM January 14 ,through June 30, 1985, as a pilot pro;ect to
identify and license any unlicensed businesses currently opera-
ting in the City of San Bernardino.
The pilot project was funded for $8,700.00. It is
estimated that at the end of June $4,460.00 will remain in
the account. Although we will have spent less than one-
half of the amount budgeted we will realize additional business
license revenue of approximately $36.000.00.
I am requesting that the account balance be carried
over to the fiscal year 85-86 budget to allow the pilot
nrogram to continue until September 13, 1985. To date the
nrogram has generated $36,000.00 in revenue and an extension
should result in total revenue of $70,000.00-- $34,000.00
over the original projection.
