STAFF REPORT The sewer interceptor in Mill Street is 18" in diameter at the point it crosses the Lytle Creek Flood Control Channel. Immediately east of the channel, the line decreases to a 12" diameter pipe to Mt. Vernon a distance of approximately 2650'; Increased flows in this interceptor from new developments have created recurring maintenance problems. A recommendation has been received from the Public Services Depar.tment that a relief sewer be installed in order to allevi- a te these problems. . We have estimated that the cost of installing an 18" relief sewer along this reach will be $266,200. This cost includes jacking the pipe under 2 railroad tracks. An 18" pipe was selected to provide sufficient reserve capacity for this reach, considering the existing 12" line would remain in service.
