Recommen<:led motion:
That Change Order No. One to the contract with Hubbs
Equipment Company for the construction of Rio Vista Park,
Phase II-A, in accordance with Plan No. 6767, be approved
to authorize payment for equipment rental for tree removal,
installation of two handicapped ramps, deletion of 608 feet
of 5-foot chain link fence and the addition of 608 feet of
temporary chain link fence, at a net increase in the contract
price of $811.62, from $231,966.06 to $232,777.68.

STAFF REPORT
During the construction of the improvements in Rio Vista Park, Phase
IrA, it was necessary to remove trees and stumps not originally planned for
in the construction phase. This work required the Contractor to rent supple-
mental equipment to complete the requested work. Additionally, it was
necessary to sawcut and remove existing walks and construct handicapped
ramps to insure accessibility for the disabled.
Presently, work is being considered for the completion of the south-
erly portion of the park. The present contract required the construction of
a 5-foot high chain link fence between the phases of the park. The Contractor
has suggested that a temporary chain link fence be installed to provide
necessary security. In the event the southerly portion of the park is com-
pleted in the near future, it will not be necessary to remove a permanent
fence and relocate it.
The cost breakdown is as follows:
1. Rental of Hough Loader $ 1,700.00
II 2. Remove and Construct handicapped ramps (2) 1,000.00
3. Delete 5' chain link Fencing (2,602.24)
4. Add 608 feet of temporary fencing 608.00
5. Overhead/Profit (on additive items only) 105 .86
TOTAL $ 811.82
The Department of Parks and Recreation has reviewed the above and concurs
with the recommended changes. Staff recommends that Contract Change Order No.
One be approved. Funds for the change order are available as a part of the
contingencies allowed for this project.
