STAFF REPORT
San Bernardino Community Hospital has undertaken a major expansion project in the
Northwest Redevelopment Project Area in order to construct a professional office
complez under the erpansion program. The community hospital has requested
assistance from Redevelopment Agency to purchaee the Orangewood Park site from the
City Parks and Recreation Department and sell the site to Community Hospital. In
order to comply with Civil Code section 33433, a Public Hearing must be conducted
for the sale.
The Public Hearing was set for 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 1986.
Community Hospital staff requested that the Public Hearing be continued to August
4, 1986 because their attorney did not have enough time to review the agreement.
Staff was subsequently advised that attorney for hospital did not approve the
agreement and wished to amend it. At Council Keeting of August 4, 1986, the
Public Hearing was continued until August 18, 1986. Attorney and Hospital advised
staff that since Hospital Administration would be out of town until week of August
11, 1986, it is not possible to amend agreement for the August 18, 1986 meeting.
Ezhibits "A" and "B" attached hereto present the obligations of the respective
departments and the benefits associated with the project. Staff requests
continuance to September 8, 1986.
