Synopsis of Previous Council action:
Mayor and Common Council approval for street resurfacing from Ward Account Funds and
SB300 Funds for major arteries throughout the City.
Recommended motion:
That the Purchasing Agent be authorized to advertise for bids for scarifying, planing
and rejuvenating the 16 major arteries listed on the attached sheet.

STAFF REPORT
The Mayor and Common Council approved the following major arteries for recon-
struction from funds previously allocated:
Waterman Avenue, from Central to the Santa Ana River
Highland Avenue, from Waterman Avenue to Sierra Way
Arrowhead Avenue, from 6th Street to Baseline
Arrowhead Avenue, from Highland Avenue to 29th Street
"H" Street, from 16th Street to Highland Avenue
Pepper Avenue, from Mill Street to Randall Avenue
5th Street, from Arrowhead Avenue to 17th Street
Massachusetts, from Baseline to 17th Street
Wier Road, from Waterman Avenue to Steele Road
Pumalo, from Sterling to Arden Avenue
Marshall Bl., from Del Rosa Avenue to Sterling
21st Street, from Waterman Avenue to San Gabriel
"D" Street, from 5th Street to Baseline
"E" Street, from 4th Street to Basel ine
2nd Street, from "I" Street to Mt. Vernon Avenue
Pumalo, from Golden to Del Rosa Avenue
Before these streets can be resurfaced, the City must contract for scarifying,
planing, area removal and placement of rejuvenating oil. The estimated square
yardage to be completed is 250,000 for a total cost of $351,831.
To prevent delays in completing the work we are requesting that the Purchasing
Agent be authorized to advertise for bids at the earliest possible time.
Source of funding will be from the balance of the Ward Account Funds allocated
for this type of work with the remainder to be taken from the remaining monies
of the first $460,000 SB300 funds and the second phase SB300 funds $226,000)
both of which have already been received by the City. Detailed funding sheet
is attached.
