Recommended motion:
Adopt resolution authorizing the establishment of a "No Parkin9 Any
Time" zone on the West side of Central Avenue between Highland Avenue
and a point 780 Feet Southerly.

STAFF REPORT
The En9ineering Division was requested to investigate the
parking situation on Central Avenue South of Highland.
Field investigation indicates that Central Avenue, South of
Highland Avenue, is not fully improved. The pavement is too
narrow to allow parking on the West side of the street.
The Engineering Division recommends that a "No Parking Any
Time" zone be established on the West shoulder area of Central
Avenue, South of Highland Avenue for approximately 780 feet, to
alleviate the potential safety hazard created by occasional
parked vehicles. The prohibiting of parking would not
adversely affect parking availability in the area.

RESOLUTION NO.
2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AMENDING RESOLUTION
NO. 3985 ENTITLED IN PART "A RESOLUTION . . . PROHIBITING PARKING
3 UPON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS OR PORTIONS THEREOF. . .";
AUTHORIZING A NO PARKING ANY TIME ZONE ON THE WEST SIDE OF CENTRAL
4 AVENUE, SOUTH OF HIGHLAND AVENUE.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
6 SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
i SECTION 1. ReSOlution No. 3985, which prohibits parking upon
8 certain designated streets or portions thereof, Section One, is
9 amended by adding thereto Subsection (4.2) CENTRAL AVENUE (NORTH-
10 SOUTH) to read:
11 "(4.2) CENTRAL AVENUE (NORTH-SOUTH)

(a) Between the center line of Highland Avenue and a
13 point 780 feet south, applicable to the west side only."
