STAFF REPORT
With the construction of our Main Library, there will be street
i~prove~ents including 6th Street between "E" and "F" Streets. This
is the time to underground these'facilities that are presently
located on the South side of 6th Street.
The Underground Utility District Committee has approved of the
formation of an underground util ity district for the relocation of
those facilities on the South side of Sixth Street between "E" and
"F" Streets. There will be no cost to the City of San Bernardino
for this project.
The formation of this district will not defer any similar project in
the City,
We recommend the approval of the underground utility district.

WHEREAS, a pub 1 i c heari ng was held on the 18th day of March, 19R5,

safety or welfare requires the formation of an underground utility district.,
No. 14, located between the South line of Sixth Street and a line approxil1li\te-
ly J.50.00 feet North of the North line of Sixth Street and between "E" Street
and "F" Street, San Bernardino, California; and
WHEREAS, notice of such hearing has been given to all affected
property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and to all
utilities concerned in the manner and for the ti~e required by law; and
WHEREAS, such hearing has been duly and regularly held and all
oersons interested have been given an opportunity to be heard;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCil OF
THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. It is hereby found and determined pursuant to Chapter
21
13.36 Of the San Bernardino Municipal Code of the City of San Bernardino and
the definitions contained therein that the public necessity, health, safety

and welfare require the formation of an underground utility district located
between the South line of Sixth Street and a line approximately 150.00 feet

North of the North line of Sixth Street and between "E" Street and "F" street,
San Bernardino, California, public streets which are extensively used by the
general public and carry a heavy volume of vehicular traffic, in order to
remove util ity poles, overhead wi res and associ ated structures and to under-
ground utilities along said portions of Sixth Street betl'leen "E" and "r" stree s.

An underground

utility district to be known as Under-
ground Utility District No. 14 is hereby established in that area located
between the South line of Sixth Street and a line approximately 150,00 feet
North of the North line of Sixth Street and between "E" Street and "F" Street,
San Bernardino, California, more particularly described as follows:
That portion located between the South line of Sixth Street and a line
approximately 150.00 feet North of the North line of Sixth Street and
between "E" Street and "F" Street
NOTE: Drawing No. 6678 by the Engineering Division, Department of
Public Works, City of San l3ernardino, is attached hereto and made a
part of this description:
SECTION 3. All poles, overhead wires and associated overhead
structures shall be removed and underground installations made in said under-
ground utility district within the following times:
a, Underground installation by Utility companies and property
owners and reconnect ions not later than

b. Removal of poles, overhead wires and other associated
structures not later than

SECTION 4. The City Clerk is hereby directed to mail a copy hereof
and a copy of San Bernardino Municipal Code Section 13.36,90 to all affected
property owners as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and to all
