CITY OF SAN BERNADINO - REQUEST pQ. COUNCIL ACTION
STAFF REPORT
On April 28, 1988, this office received a request for a Grant of Easement to
Southern California Edison Company, over City owned property located on the North
side of 21st Street, East of Valencia Avenue.
This easement is needed by the Edison Company to provide electrical energy to the
Senior Citizen Center, presently under construction, located in Perris Hill Park,
and it is recommended that the attached resolution be approved author!zing and
directing the execution of said Grant of Easement.

A RESOLUTION OF THE CIn OF SAN BERNARDINO GRANTING AN EASEMtXI TO
SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON COMPANY, A CORPORATION. OVER CITY OWNED PROPEHTY
LOCATED NORTH OF 21ST STREET, EAST OF VALENCIA AVENUE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SA;'
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That the City of San Bernardino execute a Grant at
Easement to Southern California Edison Company. a Corporation,
for
8 transmission of electrical energy and appurtenant facit ities.

SECTION 2. That the said Grant of Easement referred to herein. a
10 copy of which is attached hereto. marked Exhibit "A". and is hereby referred
11 to and made a part hereof as fully as though set out at length herein, is
12 hereby approved.

SECTION 3. That the Mayor of the City of San Bernal'dino is hereby
anthorl zed anel directed to execute said Grant of Easement on behalf ot the
15 Ci.\y of San Berlllu'dino.

A strip of land, 10 feet in width, lying within a portion of lot 5. Block 40, of RANCHO SAN
BERNAROINO, as shown on map rlcorded in Book 7, page 2, of Haps in the Of(;cI of the Recorder of said
County; the centerline of said strip being described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point in the Northerly Hn. of 21st Street, as now established, $lid point being
dhtant thereon 485 feet Easterly frOlll the centerline of Valencia Avenue, as now established; thence
Northerly parallel to the Easterly line of said Lot, a distance of 105 f.et.
The Grantor agrees for itself, its successors and assigns not to erect, place or lIaintain, nor to
permit the erection, placement or maintenance of any building, planter boxes, earth fn1 or other
structures ellcept walls and fences on the above ducribed real property. The Gr..ntee, and its
contractors, agents and employees, shall have the right to trim or cut tree roots as Ny .ndanger or
interfere with uid systems and shall have free access to said systems and every part thereof, at all
tillles, for the purpose of exerc;sing the rights herein granted; provided, however, that in Nking any
