Deseri tion Baseline Signals - "H" Street to Sierra Way Finance: reet Traffi .~ t~,- ---.,-- Council Notes: 75-0262 Agenda Item No. 7 . o CITY OF SAN 8I!RNARDINO - o REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT Plans for the modification of the traffic signals on Baseline Street, from "H" Street to Sierra Way, have been pre- pared by the Engineering Division and the p~oject is ready to be advertised for bids. ' The project will consist, in general, of replacing the existing controllers with Type 170 units. A program will be furnished that will allow the operation of the signals within the interconnected system to be monitored in the Traffic En- gineering Section Office to determine if the timing is in the proper sequence to provide progressive movement. Data will be transmitted over a leased telephone line to a micro-computer. The micro-computer required for this monitoring will be furnished under this contract. Listed below is an estimate of the total project cost. Federal-Aid Urban Funds can be used to cover any overrun. We recommend that the supplemental funds needed, if any, be provided after the bids are opened and the actual contract price is known. At their meeting of 12-10-87, the Environmental Review Committee made a finding that this project is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act. We recommend that the plans be approved and authorization granted to advertise for bids. 5-18-88 75-0264
