WHEREAS, drug abuse and gang violence have become
deadly cancers of our society; and
WHEREAS, the United Black Students Association of
Southern California has organized a weekend event
dedicated to anti-drug and gang violence in our community;
and
WHEREAS, in support of this event, Minister Louis
Farrakhan has been invited to speak against the abuse of
drugs and the violence created by gangs; and
WHEREAS, workshops on gangs and drug abuse will be
held at the Boys & Girls Club, 1180 West 9th Street, in
San Bernardino,
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO
ACKNOWLEDGES THE EFFORTS OF THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZA-
TIONS INVOLVED IN THE ELIMINATION OF GANG VIOLENCE AND
DRUG ABUSE IN OUR CITY AND NATION.
