STAFF REPORT
On March 16, 1988, the Traffic Safety Committee discussed
the traffic safety condition on College Avenue between University
Parkway and Citadel Avenue.
The main concern was the limited sight distance at the
intersections of Varsity and Grand Avenues at College Avenue,
One of the Committee's recommendations is to prepare a
striping plan to provide two travel lanes for eastbound traffic
on College Avenue and one travel lane for westbound traffic. This
striping strategy will shift the traffic lanes away from the view
obstruction, and towards the pavement, consequently providing
improved sight distance for the foregoing intersections.
In order to implement this striping, it will be necessary
to prohibit parking on both sides of College Avenue between
University Parkway and Citadel Avenue, Therefore, we recommend
the parking restriction be approved, noting that the on-street
parking demand is minimal.

RESOLUTION NO. 3985 ENTITLED IN PART, "A RESOLUTION. PROHIBITING
3 PARKING UPON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS OR PORTIONS THEREOF. "
TO ESiABLISH A NO PARKING ZONE ON COLLEGE AVENUE, BETWEEN
4 UNIVERSITY PARKWAY AND CITADEL AVENUE.
5 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Resolution No. 3985, which prohibits parking

upon certain designated streets or portions thereof, Section One,

is amended by adding Subsection (6.15) College Avenue, to read:
