STAFF REPORT
John R. Trauth, housing consultant, has an agreement with the City
of San Bernardino that provides for $25,000 in hourly services at
$50.00 per hour, or a total of 555.5 hours for the contract year
which ends April 7, 1988. Expenses are billed in addition to cost.
At an average of approximately thirty (30) hours per month, total
hours to date have been 299 as of the end of February, 1988. At the
same rate of pay, staff estimates that the existing housing
agreement could be extended to cover the period from April 8, 1988
through October 8, 1988. Mr. Trauth would be agreeable to an
extension of the current agreement for six (6) additional months
(April 8, 1988 through October 8, 1988) under the same terms and
conditions as are stipulated in the present agreement. Suchan
extension would reauire no additional fundina and would Drovide
approximatelY eiahteen (18) months of services. rather than the
oriainallv estimated twelve (12).
I recommend adoption of the attached resolution authorizing and
directing the execution of a first amendment to the agreement with
John R. Trauth for housing consultant services.

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
5 SECTION 1. The Mayor of the City of San Bernardino is
6 hereby authorized and directed to execute for and on behalf of
7 said city a First Amendment to Agreement with John R. Trauth for
8 consulting services, a copy of which is attached hereto as
9 Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by this reference as though
10 fully set forth at length.
11 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly
12 adopted by the Mayor and Common Council of the city of San
13 Bernardino at a meeting thereof, held on this
14 day of , 1988 by the following vote, to

FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT WITH JOHN R. TRAUTH
FOR CONSULTANT SERVICES (HOUSING)
THIS FIRST AMENDMENT TO AGREEMENT is entered into by and
between the CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO, a municipal corporation,
referred to as "city", and JOHN R. TRAUTH, an individual,
referred to as "Consultant", and amends that agreement between
7 the parties approved by Resolution Number 87-107 of the City of
8 San Bernardino, in the following respects only:
9 1. The term of the agreement, as specified in section 7
10 thereof, is extended through October 8, 1988, with the limitation
lIon compensation contained therein in section 5 to remain intact
12 and unchanged.
13 2. In all other aspects, the agreement between the parties
14 shall continue in full force and effect.
15 IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties hereto have executed this
16 First Amendment to agreement on the day of
17 1988.
