The proposed purchase is for various sizes of automotive batteries to be
utilized in all City vehicles on an as required basis.
Appropriate specifications were prepared, published and furnished to
area suppliers. Bids were publicly opened and declared on April 07,
1988. The following is a summary of Bids received:

The City asked for a one year bid and a three year bid. Twelve (12)
vendors were soli ci ted. Fi ve (5) responded, four (4) wi th both a one
year and a three year bid. The Purchasing Agent recommends a three (3)
year bid for best economy reasons, fixed, firm prices for a fixed period
of time and sUbject to a purchase contract each fi sca 1 year to sati sfy
funding out clause
Specifications as bid have been reviewed with the Equipment
Superintendent who concurs that the Bid of Keystone Battery meets
specifi cati ons and requirements. It is therefore recommended that the
Bid be accepted for contract. The equipment funding is in the 1988/89
budget. Account Number: 001-000-10055. Total Amount: Central Stores
Inventory.

RESOLUTION NO.
2 RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AWARDING A BID TO KEYSTONE
BATTERY FOR THE FURNISHING AND DELIVERY OF AUTOMOTIVE BATTERIES IN ACCORDANCE
1 WITH SPECIFICATION F-89-09.
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN
BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

6 SECTION 1. That Keystone Battery is the lowest and best bidder
7 for the furnishing and delivering of Automotive Batteries for a three year
H period in accordance with Bid Specification F-89-09 for Central Stores
9 Inventory; pursuant to this determination, the Purchasing Agent is hereby
10 authorized and directed to issue a purchase order for said Automotive
II Batteries to said lowest and best bidder; such award shall only be effective
12 upon the issuance of a purchase order each fiscal year by the Purchasing
13 Agent; and all other bids therefor are hereby rejected.
14 I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by
15 the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San Bernardino at a
