COUNCIL ACTION STAFF REPORT On March 7, 1988, the Mayor and Common Council adopted Resolution No. 88-63 with the California Highway Patrol and the City of San Bernardino, Police Department. This resolution was forwarded to the Highway Patrol, Accounting Office on March 11, 1988. It was returned to this department stating that the re- solution was not acceptable. The resolution, as written, stated that there would be no debt or financial obligation on the part of the City of San Bernardino. There is, however, a tuition fee to be paid in advance for each officer attending motorcycle training. This tuition is fully reimbursable through P.O.S.T. No officer will be attending any training classes unless suf- ficient funds are available in the training fund. It is the recommendation of this department that the at- tached resolution be adopted to allow our police personnel to attend training programs from time to time and will provide the required documentation for the California Highway Patrol Account- ing Office. This resolution further clarifies the intent of the amend- ment to Resolution No. 88-63 passed on April 18, 1988 and repeals Resolution No. 88-63. LM/dys 04/26/88 75-0264 J:I . o o 1 RESOLUTION NO.
