A staunch libertarian, it is not by
fluke the 46-year-old San Bernardino
resident is running for the City's East
Valley Water District governing board
seat. '
"I'm not one of these polished politi-
cian," grinned the 1974 San
Bernardino High School graduate.
He continued, "The main reason I am
running is becal18E' I want to force the
federal government into exposing
their nucle!lr waste disposal practices
from the Cold War."
Born in Landstuhl, Germany into a
military family, Lindberg has two
younger brothelS: Mike and Ricky and
one sister Debbie.
According to Lindberg, his single life
allows him to play the role of an
activist and become a voice for those
who need to 'expose the guilty.'
"There are people who are afraid and
they would rather have someone else
help them. I look at causes which are
legitimate," answered the East Valley
water board candidate, "and I help."
Growing up in San Bernardino, after
graduating high school, Lindberg fin-
ished his studies a t San Bernardino
Valley College.
He also attended CaI Poly Pomona
and Fullerton College before going to
work at the Defense Department in the
Los Angeles area.
"I came back to San Bernardino after
that:' Lindberg replied. "But I kept
up-to-date on issues here."
Running ,for the San Bernardino East
Valley Water District, Lindberg knows

thorn on the side' or a 'pain the neck"
of local governing bodies in the San

We looked the other way at racism. Now we are lea~ing the state has
the power to disenfranchiS!' everyone: We looked the other way and
now it is happening, to us. When you ignore injustice, you set a new
scandard for state'lepression.
Tonight IIeame<l another lesson from our all powerful Police State. I
went to the PoliCe AccoUlltability Committee Meeting in San
Bernardino, Ca.. I had concerns about (I) the purging of waste
Contamination data on the Internel at Norton AFB (pan of the city of
San Bernardino), (2) the ~Ieanup and (3) illegal dumping of waste
from Norton AFB to surrounding communities. Som,eone needed to
launch an investigation. I doubted law enforcement woutd be cooper-
ative and I was right, but J had to be SUle.
I have been researching nuclear waste contamination at the Hanford
Nuclear Reservation (Ves, that's what they call it) in Washinglpn State
and military facilities across the nation. My immediate concerns:
(I ) Did Norton AFB become an illegal dumpsite for Transuranic
waste (Spent NucleaiFuel) or other waste tied to the Nuclear
Weapons Industry.
(2) If so, has it been cleaned up.

well is the hottellt well in the country.
'(4) If the child care center is above the same pool of underground
water a.'i the hot well, someone is breaking the law and those children
will not die of old age,
(5) I wan~ loc~i law enforcement to find out if groundwater testing
had been done close enough to the Day Care Center to insure the
safety of the childlen.

This was their response-.
(1) Are you with a gro~p and who are they.
(2) We have no authority to investigate the mauer and you ale out of
order.
(3) The Assiscant Police Chief, Wayne Harp conftrmed the San
Bernardino Police Department would offer no help either.
I went there to address the nuclear waste contamination at Norton
AFB and the wisdom of having a day care center so close to this
J1Idioactive plum. What J got was a leminder of just how disenfran-
chised we have become in America. My point is this. The government
can nuke our childlen until they glow and no public servant is going
10 investigate the conduct. Much less, lift a ftnger to stop them.
Minorities had mOle rights 35 years ago, than American citizens have
today. Justice is a dish, best served cold.
