Resolution of the Mayor and Common Council of the City of San
Bernardino, California, amending resolution 1999-173 to reinstate
investigation fee of $200.00 for Dine & Dance/Live Entertainment
BACKGROUND INFORMATION:
When the Dine & Dance/Live Entertainment Municipal Code Chapter 5.12 was
repealed in 1999 and replaced with Municipal Chapter 5.14, the investigation fee was
inadvertently omitted. This department, in conjunction with the City Attorney's Office,
is taking the necessary steps to reinstate the investigation fee. The fee of $200.00 was
originally established on August 3, 1983 by ordinance MC-294. The investigation fee
is charged to defray the costs incurred by the City Clerk, Development Services and
Police Department during the investigative process. The Fire Department, which is
involved in the review process, charges an inspection fee through their permit process.
During a year the City Clerk's Office processes about 10 permits for which an
investigation fee is collected.
RECOMMENDED MOTION:
