STAFF REPORT
Subiect:
Resolution awarding contract to DBX, Inc. for installation of Traffic Signals at Rialto A venue
and Sierra Way, per Plan No. 10158.

The City requested and received a $64,000 Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality Program
(CMAQ) grant from SANBAG for a portion of the cost to install traffic signal at Rialto
Avenue and Sierra Way.
This project will involve the conversion of a four-way stop intersection to a fully activated two-
phase traffic signal. The signal is equipped with pedestrian signals with auditory activation and
Type B push buttons. It will be interconnected to the existing signals at 2nd Street and Sierra
Way, and Rialto Avenue and Arrowhead Avenue. In addition, the access ramps and sidewalk
landing at this location will be constructed to meet current ADA standards.
Plans and specifications for this project are complete and it is ready to be awarded. The
estimated project costs are as follows:
Construction Estimate $104,677.00
Contingencies $ 15,700.00
Design, Inspection, and Contract Administration $ 15,700.00
Total $136,077.00
This project was advertised in The Sun newspaper, on the City's web site, and with the
Chamber of Commerce. The following companies responded, the successful bidder is in bold
type.

RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SAN

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE
6 CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. DBX, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder for installation of traffic

12 hereby rejected. The Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to execute said contract on
13
behalf of the City; a copy of the contract is on file in the office of the City Clerk and

incorporated herein by reference as fully as though set forth at length.

17 effect or become operative until fully sign~d and executed by the parties and no party shall be
