STAFF REPORT
SUBJECT
A resolution authorizing the execution of an Annual Purchase Order, with two single year renewal
options, to Chaparral Motorsports for motorcycle parts and supplies.
BACKGROUND
The Fleet Division maintains fourteen (14) pursuit police motorcycles. Notices inviting bids for FY
2001/2002 annual purchase of motorcycle service and materials, Bid No. F-02-09, were sent to three
yendors, the San Bernardino Chamber of Commerce, and advertised in The Sun newspaper and on
the City's Web page. Due to the variety of parts which may be purchased to repair the motorcycles,
a representative sample parts list was developed. Only one (1) bid was received from Chaparral
Motorsports of San Bernardino; Fleet staff reviewed the bid and feels the numbers are in line with
required specifications,
FINANCIAL IMPACT
Funds for this purchase order are contained in the Public Services Department, Fleet Division Fiscal
Year 2001/2002 budget, Materials and Supplies account for the amount of $30,000.
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt resolution.

PUBLIC SERVICES DEPARTMENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY lHE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF lHE
CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That Chaparral Motorspons provides motorcycle pans and supplies utilized
to suppon the City of San Bernardino Police Motorcycle Fleet, Pursuant to this determination, the
Purchasing Manager is hereby authorized and directed to issue an Annual Purchase Order, with two
single year renewal options, to Chaparral Motorspons in an amount not to exceed $30,000 as a
result of Bid No.F-02-09. This Annual Purchase Order and furure year renewal options shall be
contingent upon funds being approved in the City's Budget for this service.
SECTION 2. The authorization to execute the above referenced is rescinded if it is not
issued within sixty (60) days of the passage of this resolution.
