During all this time (over two years) the health of all of the residents, the many air polluting leaks in the area has affected students, and workers in the area. In fact children who had no previous history of asthma and other respiratory illness now have constant asthma and nosebleeds. Our seniors and children are most at risk, however all of us are suffering ill health affects. '" The city through its planning department had the responsibility of insuring that any organization or business locating or expanding in our area met the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) standards upon approval. Now that the Omnitrans CNG expansion is in operation, we expect that the city will monitor compliance with those standards for clean air. Though the SCAQMD also has a responsibility in this arena, we are asking that the city step forward and take the position of most concerned and use that position to lever AQMD and any other agencies, county, state and federal, to come to your aid and ours to remedy this situation. We request that you provide us a written status report of what we can expect from the city in this matter. cc: Planning Department, City of San Bernardino 7Y!~ aft~ ~~ ~\~\O :1495 Kin.pnan.
