Agenda Item No.9 on the February 5, 2001 agenda requests that yuu ratify action taken on
January 29, 2001. On that date, yuu approved a motion adopting Resolution No. 2001-27
authorizing execution of an agreement between American Medical Response and the Gty of San
Bemardino Fire Department for Pre-Hospital Paramedic Service.
lhe reason we are requesting that yuu ratify yuur prior action is that on the day ~ the January
29 GJUnci1 meeting this office learned that the Resolution yuu approved was not included in yuur
backup. lhe agreement referenced in Resolution No. 2001-27 was distributed to yuu prior to the
O,unci1 meeting of January 29; however, the backup information did not include the Resolution.
Attached is a copy of Resolution No. 2001-27 that yuu approved on January 29 and I arn
requesting that yuu ratify last week's approval of the Resolution.

RESOLUTION 2001-27
RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SAN BERNARDINO APPROVING A CONTRACT
BETWEEN THE SAN BERNARDINO CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT AND AMERICAN
MEDICAL RESPONSE REGARDING ENHANCED PRE-HOSPITAL PARAMEDIC
SERVICE.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
SAN BERNARDINO AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. That American Medical Response (AMR) and San Bernardino City Fire
Department wish to enter into a long-term publiclprivate partnership program to provide
enhanced pre-hospital paramedic service; and
SECTION 2. That the Mayor or her designee is hereby authorized and directed to
execute a contract, a copy of which is attached as Exhibit A;
SECTION 3. The authorization to execute the above referenced contract is rescinded if
not executed within sixty (60) days ofthe passage of this resolution.

I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing resolution was duly adopted by the Mayor and
Joint Adjourned
